# 6 Night Trek to Chanderi Top Via Panvel on 21st Night to 22nd Feb 2015.

Little info about the fort
Type: Hill Fort.
Height: 2330 Feet above MSL (Approx)
Range: Matheran
Grade: Medium to Diff.
Base Village: Tamsai

Chanderi is an ancient army fort situated near Vangani (Kalyan).There are not much remnants on the top except few water tanks and shatters stones.The view from the top is really alluring, one can observe Karnala, Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Manikgad, Peb, Matheran, Nakhind, Navranavri, Tavli etc from the top.
There is no significant history attached to this fort. Near the caves on the fort are visible some remnants of fortification. This is the only sign to designate Chanderi as a fort. In May 1656, ShivajiMaharaj conquered all territory up to Kalyan-Bhiwandi-Rairi. This was when this fort came under the rule of the Marathas.

# 7:30 started to march towards the Top of Candheri Fort after introduction




# 9:30 all rangers gave Salami to the Great Lead Shivaji Maharaj, lots of pics.


















# 10:30 started descend towards cave, back to cave at 12:30..!! REALLY..gasp emoticon

# 1:00 pm lunch, Nap & enjoying funny audios (sugiiee aahet ka,..!!)
# 1:45 all rangers ready to bid Good bye to cave & return back to base Village



# 3:30 phew..reached base village, all exhausted in the Sun, par...Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!!
# 4:00 pm return journey to Panvel station...enjoying pepsi gola & cold drinks on the way and ankashari all along in the tempo.
# 5:00 pm...reach panvel, saying Bye-Bye was difficult..
# Sunday enjoyed to the fullest.

Day - 5 02/11/11 In the morning had the breakfast at Hotel Brown itself . Booked the Travera for drop to Srinagar for Rs-2000.00 , On the way visited the bat factory , On the way visited Avantipore ruin .Its is about 30 km from Srinagar on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. Its an ancient capital city of Avantipora founded by Rajaj Avantivarman.Its also famous for its two imposing temples, now in ruins, built by him.
