November 15,2010 Today   we have to check out from   Hotel and had booked the stay   at hotel Tea Bud , Palampur . we negotiated with the taxi for Rs-3000   for   Palampur and next day to Chakki bank Namgyal Monastery The Buddhist Pilgrimage: Namgyal Monastery is situated in Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also called Namgyal Dratsang in local language and was founded by Sonam Gyasto, the third Dalai Lama in 1575. The aim behind the monastery was to assist Dalai Lama in his public religious activities and perform prayers for welfare of Tibet . The monastery had also been teaching the young Buddhist monks and Lamas. After Chinese invasion on Tibet , many Tibetan monks fled to India and Nepal . Those coming to India preferred staying at Dharamshala and adjoining areas. November 14,2010 Today we have to cover the Kangra fort and Four Devi   - Chamumda Devi   , Brajeshwari Devi Temple , Chintpurni Devi and Jwala Devi Mandir. As usual, there was the discussion about the taxi fares, and eventually we settled   on a rate of Rs.1900 for taking us around. After a quick breakfast, we got into the taxi for what seemed like a long day ahead of us. The journey was through a hilly road, but nothing too steep nor too rough. The drive was through a beautiful environment,. After a short drive, we reached the first location on our day journey.   Chamumda Devi – There is a story   of the goddess Ambika who was harassed by two demons, Chanda and Munda.
